PureNano is an EU-funded project developing a simple and cost-effective way to regenerate plating baths, extending their life as much as 10-fold and reducing the environmental impact of spent baths.
Purenano technology is based in the timely treatment of plating baths with functionalized magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs), that can absorb in their surface the contaminants and chemical species that are accumulated.
The main objectives of the project are:
- Developing a purification method of the plating bath lines using Magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs)
- Production of different coated MNPs for the removal of several kinds of contaminants;
- To showcase the innovations setting up a Demonstrator by designing the PureNano Project proves in electroless and electrolytic lines;
This project has received funding for the European Union H2020’s research and innovation program under the grant agreement number 821431.
