REDONDO Consortium & Review Meeting
On September 30th and October 1st it was held the consortium and review meeting of REDONDO, which took place in Lisbon, Portugal, hosted by the partner ISQ. The primary objective of REDONDO is to develop reversibly cross-linked polyethylene (rPEX) material to further use-case it under two applications: pipes and photovoltaic cables. This material will use innovative green and bio-based additives, which will enable further improvement of desired properties, and adopt Safety-by-Design and Sustainability-by-Design frameworks.
From AXIA’s side, it was presented the progress made during months 18 to 36, focusing on work packages 7 and 8. Work package 7 started in month 26, and with 10 months of work, AXIA is working on developing a decision support tool called PLACE-Me tool, which will be a user-friendly web-based platform which will help the user study multi-variant scenarios in the chemical processing field based on circular economy model and finding the optimal path within the economic and environmental parameters. Within the first 10 months of this task, AXIA has identified the modular units of analysis, connected them to form a superstructure approach and started to integrate the necessary data and circular paths to it. Alongside, the initial user interface structure and design have been drafted.
In work package 8 a comprehensive exploitation plan, particularly emphasizing the intellectual property management and risk analysis was performed. The Key Exploitable Results (KERs) of the project have been reviewed and updated, especially within the exploitation and intellectual protection intentions of each partner within the value chain. Additionally, an individual business plan was formulated for partners interested in commercially leveraging their innovations and a deeper market analysis was done by analyzing the competition and Porter’s 5 forces within each industry.
For the last year of the project, AXIA will have an operational decision support tool and will finish elaborating the general project strategy and individual business plans, preparing all partners for the impact phase and value creation beyond the project.
